Does the stone just fluoresce blue or does it get cloudy/milky in the sun? Most just turn blue, but there are some rare stones that also turn cloudy/milky, so as long as it doesn't do that you should be OK I would think.
As for the price, well 1.10ct G, VS2, what shape is it and how is the cut? For 2000 pounds (almost $4,000 USD) you could get something of the same quality here in the US without worrying about what happens once you leave the country.

Thanks Yosef
I forgot to say that is Marquise cut and of coarse when looking in the shop at the diamond with all the bright lights its hard to tell if its milky. For what I can see it looks like it has plenty of sparkle. The guy said he would exchange it if I go back . Do you think it sounds okay? I live in Scotland its not that I can just jump on a bus and return it. Anymore information you can give will be much appreciated. Is there any questions I should be asking the jweller. I know by someone elses purse 2000 poundss might not sound alot but to me its alot of money. Thanks once again

The price is fair, if you say it looks nice I would consider it.
Now just be sure the grading is accurate. If it's not GIA graded it is suspicious. A real G/VS2 would be a good deal at that price, however an H/SI1 would not. That's why buying locally is helpful, if there is a problem and your appraiser says it's off by a few grades, you can always go back to the dealer and request a refund.
