I found this on the link for "Canadian Diamonds" to the left navigation. Does anyone have any more information on this?
"Canadian diamonds do cost a premium, typically around 10-15% more than a diamond of the same specifications in color, clarity, cut, and carat weight. But you do get peace of mind that your diamond is conflict free and not used to aid in a war. Also by the diamond being full traceable, you can know when the diamond was extracted from the mine. This helps ensure that your diamond is not "used" and picked up by a diamond wholesaler from a pawn shop or recycling facility."
How exactly are they traceable?

They're traceable because from the moment they are plucked out of the earth to the time you have it in your hands, there is paperwork tracking the diamond.
In order for a diamond to be a "Certified Canadian Diamond" by the Canadian government, there has to be strict paperwork that is processed from when the diamonds are mined, then cut, polished, graded, etc. There are certain companies the Canadian government work with, but the largest is CanadaMark, who then supplies the major Canadian diamond suppliers such as Arctic Star, Eskimo, etc. Polar Bear is another major player that does not get their stones from CanadaMark but are also Canadian Government certified.
If someone tells you they sell Canadian diamonds and has no way to back that claim up with paperwork, chance are it's not Canadian. The governemnt also has a mechanism in place, where you can request the original paperwork submitted by the manufacturer to prove it's Canadian in Origin, so there is a system in place to audit the manufacturers that consumers can initiate. And there are big fines if the diamond manufacturers fail to produce the paperwork... plus anyone in Canada who sells "Canadian Diamonds" has to be regulated by the government... the Canadian Government takes their "Canadian Diamond" name very seriously.

If you are thinking to buy "Canadian Diamonds" in future, then, please consider on following things.
1. Buy a Government Certified Canadian Diamond™. It is the sign of its origin and quality craftsmanship.
2. You can be sure that your diamond is a natural diamond, not a synthetic or colour-enhanced.
3. It is proof of ownership. There is a serial number on your Government Certified Canadian Diamond™ certificate. It is individually recorded in a secret centralized database.

Canadian diamonds are traceable, as each one is etched on the girdle with a serial number as well as a microscopic Canadian logo such as a maple leaf or a polar bear as a trademark. The pictorial logos vary with the companies selling the diamonds.

15% for the sizzle, seems outrages. I have learned of no way that anyone has to determine origin of a polished diamond. I, upon examination for an appraisal, have noted the probable county of origin by recognizing the cut of diamonds manufactured in India several years ago when they were producing very poorly cut stones, this is no longer the case. So you see that flies out the window too. As another thought "Old Mine" cut stones have a certain look when they had been cut in Belgium years ago. That takes years of experience to recognize. Does this answer the question? I tried.
