my son, who is colorblind, can tell real diamonds from czs by their color. to him, the czs show a certain color. is this unusual ? when i wear a group of several rings, invariably he knows which are real and which are not, and he's never wrong. they all look alike to me, and i'm wondering if my son could have a future in gems.

Definite. You say he is color blind but he does the distinguishing with ease. You should advice him to take up a course in gemology. He will benefit and could make a good carrier out of it.

I'm interested in knowing if your son has had his eyes examined by an oculist or Opthomolgist and what their findings were. I know of no physiological or physical reason for this phenomenon and would be very interested in leaning more about it.
