I’m shopping for a rock for an engagement ring. I’ve recently viewed some stones and wanted to see if anyone out there had any thoughts on what I saw. I’m looking for, approximately a 2 carat stone with exceptional cut, good color and decent clarity. One thing that has me most confused is the value of the “brand name” diamonds…specifically “Star 129”…does anyone have thoughts on the value of these specially cut diamonds? Worth extra $$$ or just paying for the name…is it just a fad or truly superior cut? Is SI3 legit? Is the “estate” stone a great buy or a sub-par stone? It seems some of the prices are out of line when I browse the online stores. If it’s a good buy I’m ok with spending $25K on a rock. Thanks much for any insight!
