Hi,

I have been looking at Diamond engagement rings and a couple of Rings I have seen have had either color TTLB or TTLC.

What are these colors? Where do they fit into the color scale? Do these diamonds appear white?

Any explanation would be greatly appreciated.:)

Thanks

TTLB stands for Top Top Light Brown
TTLC stands for Top Top Light Cape

The first refers to diamonds that have a very slight brown tint to them.
Set into jewellery they look great. They do not have a yellow tint and can very often offer the consumer great value for money. Check the diamond does not exhibit too much of a brown tint.

TTLC diamonds have a definite yellow tint to them. Cape diamonds are yellowish diamonds, named from the area of Africa where they were typically found. These are less coloured but nevertheless, the colour is noticeable.

Both of these types will be cheaper than commercial white (H/I colour) diamonds of equivalent clarity.
