Hey,
I've seen a lot of wedding bands out there that are in gold and another metal (like platinum usually or two different gold colors). What is the process used to put these two different metals together. Are they soldered?

Yes they are cast separately since they are different metals, and during assembly they are soldered or lasered together then polished.

What about something like this? It looks like the metals are separated at the bottom of the shank. I always wondered about this type.

Two tones ring always fascinates me. The way they are combined and polished is great. Stainless steels with goldplated edges works best fro me..

Yes, when different metals are used, such as platinum and gold for example, then the 2 metals may be soldered together or lasered. The melting points of gold and platinum are different, so this process is usually done by an experienced jeweler or manufacturer. :)
