Hi,
If I get an E color center diamond with side stones that are G-H will I notice much of a difference?
Hello Candi,
I would say there would be a difference, especially with larger side stones like a 3-stone ring. With small pave diamonds or accent stones, that are more spaces out from the center diamond especially it becomes less of an issue.

hi thanks for the response! Yes I was thinking of a 3-stone ring. I guess I'll consider getting a little higher color instead

SORRY I'M LATE WITH THIS HOPE IT'S NOT TOO LATE
I'm new to this business so I need help in understanding why anyone would be choosing an E stone for an engagement ring when if they are viewed from two feet away you can't tell the difference between E and H. this only becomes discernable when the stones are almost girdle to girdle; and then only under the best lighting. If your looking for Sparkle then cut is the principle target, Then Color and then discuss price and clarity.

In a 3-stone diamond ring setting, it would be best for all the stones to be as close in colour as possible. (Preferably within 1 colour of each other in my opinion) From a 2 foot distance, it's unlikely you'll be able to notice the difference. With engagement rings however, people do tend to look at them much more closely than say with earrings.
Princess cut diamonds also tend to show colour moreso than round brilliant diamonds.
