Default Diamond stamps

Are diamonds stamped the way rings are stamped?

Will it have the VS1 G stamp like a ring has 18K?

No, diamonds aren't stamped in this way, as precious metal ring shanks are. Many diamonds come with certificates which show you the carat weight and quality. How do you know that the two match up together? Well, a diamond grading laboratory such as the GIA, for example, at the point of grading a diamond actually microscopically laser inscribe the girdle of the diamond with the certificate number. They do this for diamonds of less than 1.00ct but not over. Along the same lines, it is also possible to have diamonds laser inscribed with a brief message such as "I love you" for example. This can be done by specialist bodies.
