I was comparing some diamond shapes (mostly princess and round brilliant) and on several of the diamonds, I noticed that the girdles on the princess and some asscher shapes were thicker than the rounds.
Is there any reason for this as part of the shape or is this just a bad cut? |

Fancy shapes will typically have thicker gridles than their round counterparts. It's just the nature of the diamond cuts.
